Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia
05 July – 07 July 2014 (Day 1)
My first trip to Penang with my colleagues!
We took the earliest Tigerair flight TR2428, time of departure is 9am! Met early at 6.30am and had breakfast at McDonalds (Changi Airport Terminal 2), before we checked in early and roamed the duty free shops.

On my way home from work one day, I passed by Plaza Singapura’s atrium and there seems to be some events going on, so I dropped by for a look.
Meiji was having atrium sales for their products – chocolates, biscuits, sweets and collagen powder!
Chris’ Spicy Capsicum Dip (link) This was actually my lunch, but it’s such a great dip that it can be enjoyed anytime of the day. I was first introduced to this spicy capsicum dip when I was studying in Melbourne back in 2009. My hostel mate May was having it and she let me try. … Continue reading My Favourite Dip: Chris’ Spicy Capsicum Dip with Carr’s Table Water Crackers
In March 2014, iHerb.com had a promotion where if you spend US$200 within the month (excluding shipping fee and discounts), you’ll be upgraded to VIP for life. This is in place of the usual US$2000 spend for VIP status!
Since I’ve already made an order in early March, I thought it was a good time to become an iHerb VIP!
Another parcel from iHerb! If you haven’t heard of it, it’s the place to go for all your supplements and health food needs! They also have organic toiletries, cleaning liquids, toilet paper, and even sanitary pads..!! It’s very easy to order online.
Shipping is also quite fast – it takes a week to ship from USA to Singapore. iHerb has collaborated with SingPost to give consumers a really affordable shipping option – just US$4 for up to 6.35kg (or US$200 value, whichever comes first) of products! It’s delivered by Speedpost, so there’s tracking available and yay, no more lost parcels!
So the last time I posted about my favourite Huang Fei Hong Spicy Peanuts, which I’ve only seen selling in Singapore at Yue Hwa and another small shop in Yishun.
This time, I found another mala peanuts at NTUC Yishun!
Not Huang Fei Hong, but also another historical character, Justice Bao (Bao Gong 包公)!
I guess it’s because this product is from Henan’s City of Kaifeng (河南开封), where Justice Bao was appointed at.
