I was at Kang Kar Mall’s NTUC Fairprice supermarket in the Hougang suburb and spotted these gourmet groceries on the 2nd floor.
I really like the labels on these Beerenberg jams and marmalades.
“The Blackberry Jam that Shannon’s pets do tricks for.”
The farm is located at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. It’ll be nice to be able to visit it one day!
And I love the write up behind the jar! It makes it so personal! 🙂
“Training her unruly puppy became a piece of cake.
One afternoon at tea time, Shannon stumbled upon a secret weapon. Forget training collars, whistles and overpriced doggy treats. Just a whiff of our wild Blackberry Jam and her puppy was transfixed. Sit. Roll over. Shake hands. Good boy! Send her a pic of your pet. She’d love that.”
The Gourmet Collection’s Hot & Spicy Cajun-Style Spice Blend is what I use to make roasted potato wedges. Yum yum.
I use Gordon Ramsay’s recipe and it always work without fail! Watch it on Youtube if you can, it’s quite entertaining too. 🙂
Salad dressings from Tasmania! These are Red Kellys sauces and dressings – I spot Dynamite Chilli Sauce (good with some oven roasted chicken!), Mango Passion Sauce (it’ll be nice to drizzle this over some vanilla ice cream for dessert!), Basil & Garlic Dressing (intriguing!) and others.
Preserved olives, sundried tomatoes in strips and halves, and whole gherkins from Always Fresh.
I love sundried tomatoes.
When I tried the Houmous and Sundried Tomato Wrap from O’Briens Irish Sandwich Bar, I thought the flavours of hummus, sundried tomato, fresh capsicum, mixed leaves and olives were a perfect blend. It’s a long time since I last had it, I shall seek it out when I pass by one of their branches.
Cashew and almond spreads from Melrose Health. There is also an ‘abc spread’, which has almonds, brazil nuts amd cashew nuts.
Almonds are rich in vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that protects the body against free radicals.
Cashew nuts have no cholesterol and its high magnesium content protects the heart.
The abc spread combines the benefits of both almonds and cashews, and also brazil nuts, which has selenium, another mineral that helps as an antioxidant.
I’d love to try on of these healthy nut spreads!
Hulled and unhulled Tahini (sesame spread), also from Melrose Health.
Tahini is an essential ingredient in hummus, and here’s a recipe that I made previously. It’s also good as a dip on its own!
